Showing yourself Grace (In My Feelings Moment)

Updated: Sep 18, 2021

It is hard to believe that we are officially in the middle of September with the holidays around the corner! As I take time to reflect before we enter into Fall I realize the importance of taking a break and showing ourselves a little grace. During the summer I spent 90% of my time in the Atlanta streets sharing my wine at events, festivals and pop-up shops all over the city (yes we are wide open haha). I had the absolute pleasure to meet many of you in person as we laughed, hugged, and sampled HER Wine! It was such a delight to meet women and men that had seen or tried my wine before and were coming back as repeat customers, my heart was full from the overwhelming support from each of you. That said, while I was able to be present at all of the events this summer, I also felt I neglected other aspects of my business including staying engaged with you via email and social media. To be fully transparent, I was hard on myself for a while. Beating myself up for not responding as promptly as I should or staying engaged and posting consistently... my focus on what I "wasn't" doing, overshadowed all of the success and love that I felt from the events this summer. It wasn't until I took a moment to reflect that I realized it is ok to show myself some grace, grace meaning to acknowledge without guilt (Thank you SocialTherapy). This definition of grace was so spot on to me! I realized it's ok to acknowledge areas for improvement and growth, but also not associating guilt with this realization, because at the end of the day we are human with only 24 hours each day to move the needle closer and closer to accomplishing our goals and attaining our dreams.

I say this as a word of encouragement to you all. Success doesn't equal being busy or stressed out. Success for many of us means peace and happiness and that comes with giving yourself a little grace and appreciating the milestones along the way. So take the time to reflect this Fall, but stay present, appreciate the journey and trust the process. Give yourself some grace and finish it with a nice refreshing glass of HER Wine, because YOU DESERVE IT!
